For 2300 NTD per night, You would expect the following (but did not meet this expectation): 1. Soundproof rooms (Very Noisy especially at night from the bar downstairs, people talking and laughing. guarantee can't sleep well) 2. Check-in basic service (Staff was rude, just tell us to leave the bags, check in only 3pm can be ready. I ask if any availability for earlier check in, staff immediately say no without checking) 3. Dark room (Red light on the ceiling, guarantee cannot sleep too) 4. 11AM checkout time, 1030AM front desk calls to rush you. Location wise - like 2 mins walk to Ximending, train station and Many popular shops. Water pressure and temperature in room is very good Water dispenser, microwave, tea coffee facilities provided which is plus. Stay at Hotel Puri Ximen is first and only time.

Overall not bad (clean and new wall paint) , receptionists very friendly and helpful which help us keep the storage and bag which in between 3 day we travel to alishan. The hotel just locate behind watson xi mending and very near to mrt station.

Hotel Puri Ximen branch is located in a small lane in Ximending. The hotel is clean and well-maintained and comfortable furnishings. The hotel's location is very convenient, as it is just a short walk (3mins) from the Ximen MRT station Exit 6, which provides easy access to the rest of Taipei. The area around the hotel is also filled with restaurants, cafes, shops, and entertainment options. The check-in process is fast, I just show them our passports and booking confirmation and less than 5 mins we gotten our room cards. The room is clean with comfortable beds, and all the necessary amenities, including TV, free Wi-Fi, bottle water, tea, bedroom slipper, a few clothes hangers and hair dryer. Overall, this hotel is a great choice, comfortable and good location in Ximending area.

First stay in Hotel Puri was back in 2013 when it was just opened post renovation. Have a very good experience back then and was delighted when I managed to booked Hotel Puri again for my year end break as usually it's fully booked in December. However, my 2nd stay with Hotel Puri was a disappointment. The bed was too soft which I felt the spring has spoilt. The pillows looks fluffy but it offers no support when laying on it. I ended up with a sore back after my trip. The hotel looks rundown after 6 years which feels like the Management was just operating the hotel by performing minimum level of maintenance. Apart from the location which is great (especially if you are pokemon fan), I am not able to think of any plus point.

Getting expensive and lacking in service.

I used to stay at this hotel when I come to Taipei for its proximity to Ximending. I have to say I used to enjoy this hotel very much with their friendly staff and value for money product. Now I have to say this hotel is getting more expensive while its service standards, instead of increasing, is falling short of its price. Hence, the lack in value. I also wish to mention a lady employee on the 11th of January, saw my elderly mother, who was unfortunately, sick on this vacation, and was weak and falling towards to wall on the side, gave a dirty and condescending look. Not like my mother was falling towards her. And never did she once greeted us even when we made eye contact, she even ignored me when I greeted her. Instead, she preferred to chat loudly in the reception with her colleagues rather or the janitor rather than helping guests. Such an employee shouldn't be in the hotel or any hospitality business. Just her attitude alone will be turning me away from ever staying here in the future. More and more hotels are popping up around Ximending, to stay competitive, please discipline your staff.
